The Dream: Christopher Chann | |
This film is a motivational video starring a sponsored skateboarder by companies such as Adidas footwear, cliche skateboards, Force Skateboarding wheels, Grizzly Grip tape, etc. His name is Christopher Chann and is globally known due to his You Tube channel and because of his participation on the BATB annual game of S.K.A.T.E competition.
The film portrays a few of the many reasons why people choose to skateboard. It's challenging. Its a battle with yourself, self motivating and as I always say here "the list can go on." Skateboarders create short term goals constantly such as learning a new trick or taking a learned trick down a bigger stair set, rail, or obstacle; that they may hope to accomplish by the en of their week. These short term goals all serve the purpose of reaching longer term goals in which then serve our aspirations . The dream in which Chann often refereed to was more like a substitute to aspiration. In short, we automatically create goals and furthermore aspire to something. That something, whatever it may be to the individual skateboarder is what allows us to get back up after our slam, what has us retry our trick numerous times even though it drives us insane at times. It is each other, ourselves, and the progression we are capable of that motivates many to go and skate. Although the dipiction of this film is mainly for skateboarders it also sends a universal message that everybody has an aspiration(s) and that nothing should halt their drive to reach them.
